Big Girl Bed
A few nights ago was Noelle's first night in a big girl bed. You can tell by the look on her face that this is not a hard transition for her. Although I thought it might be hard for me with her up at the crack of dawn and coming into our room during the night. Amazingly, it's been four days and she hasn't gotten out of bed once without me going to get her. Even after her nap, I'll go into her room and find her playing with her stuffed animals on her bed like she has an invisible crib around her.
Matching Dresses
We look like one of those families that has it all together or something, but don't worry our disorganized selves are hiding beneath the facade of these matching Sunday dresses.

"I'm ready to go, Dad!"
About a month ago, we were getting ready to go to the Gonzales' house for dinner and swimming, when I hear Noelle's little voice say "I'm ready to go, Dad!". Ryan started laughing so I peeked around the corner to see this creative emsemble that Noelle had put together to wear to our friends' house. Mind you, it was the middle of June in Georgia. I just had to document this fabulous outfit.

Adeline's blessing
Here are a few pics from the last few months. Most of them are from the weekend that our families came to town for the baby blessing. Ryan's sisters, Lezlie and Jodi, were snapping photos all weekend so we were bound to get a few good ones. I'm so behind on blogging. Addie's blessing was over two months ago. She's changed quite a bit since then. Her hair is getting so long. She smiles a lot more and even belly laughs when she's in the mood.

More about little Adeline
Well, I posted the last pics with the intention of writing about Adeline's entry into this life, but life's been busy and I never got around to it. My mom came into town on Sat. evening and a few hours later I started feeling some labor pains. I really wanted my mom to be there and I can't believe how perfect the timing turned out. At about 10 pm we started timing the contractions which were still pretty irregular, but by 11 pm they were about 5 minutes apart so we decided to pack a few last minute things and head to the hospital. Of course, it took an hour to pack those few things and another hour to drop Noelle at our friends' house and get to the hospital. By the time we got to the hospital I was feeling some pretty intense contractions and was very focused on getting an epidural asap. After filling out paperwork Ryan and I headed to triage where my first question was "When can I get an epidural?" She told me that I just had to be dialated to a 4 to get an epidural, but when she checked me she gave me a doubtful look. I remember saying, "Please don't tell me that I'm only a 3!" She responded that I was already dialated to a 8.5so then I understood that her look on her face was doubt that I would get an epidural. In the delivery room I reminded the nurses and midwife about every 3 minutes that I really needed that epidural as fast as possible. Just thinking about the fact that some women do this with no pain relief whatsoever reminds me about how low my tolerance for pain must be. I finally got an epidural about 30 minutes before I delivered Adeline. The actual delivery was a bit rushed because the baby's heart rate got too low so she had to be delivered right then. Ryan was actually grabbing some things from the car when the nurses said it was time to start pushing. My mom had to run after him and he made it back in time. She was born at 2:28 am after only about ten minutes of pushing.
Adeline is now almost 2 weeks old and she is such a sweetheart. She hardly cries and when she does she is very consolable, unlike Noelle was at this stage. She's a pretty good sleeper at night and is still a sleepyhead during the day, too. My mom just left today so now the real test begins. It was so great having her here for so long. My mom is one of the most selfless and efficient people I know. Every day she would take care of Noelle and encourage me to take a nap while she would clean my house and make a fabulous dinner for my family. She's amazing! Thanks, Mom. Here a a few more pics of Adeline.

The Waiting Game
I'm trying to enjoy my last few days before our little girl is born, but it's hard to enjoy while being 9 months pregnant. My official due date is march 29th, but I fully expected to go early and now I'm 100% ready to have this baby. I'll probably want to retract that statement as soon as I feel the first labor pains. This pic is from about a week ago, but I'm sure I've grown since then.
